Groups and Membership

W@Y is a social application by definition. However, instead of frequent common-interest
information exchange, it is focused to organization and gathering of people with common
interests and places
they use to meet and have a cup of coffee or informal conversation.
To keep people with common ideas and places to go together, W@Y introduces GROUPS.

You can join others' groups or create your own group(s) and invite other W@Y users to
join. People who are member of a group can see and "use" locations shared within that
group to see where others are (relative to or exactly at) regarding location coordinates.
Members of groups you are member of, appear in your friend information list with most
recent updates about their status, taglines, location, etc.

W@Y users can join a group (based on it's type) and leave it by desire. The Owner of the group
can evict members if necessary. Groups can have a member count limit. After member count limit
is reached, no new members can join.

There are four types of groups:

To manage your membership, select Settings -> Membership from W@Y main menu. Your
present membership status with list of groups you are member or owner (if you are owner
you are also a member by default) of will appear:

Access app's menu to Create a group or Join an existing one. In case you would like to
join an existing group, a group search activity will appear:

Enter whole or part of the name of the group (or any other group information) you are
searching for and want to join to.
When you find your group, touch it to join (public) or send join request (closed). You will
become a member of public group immediately if there is still free place; for a closed group
you will have to wait for a notification if your membership was either approved or rejected.

W@Y will ask you if you want to send a JOIN REQUEST to the owner of closed group(s) and
notify you about successfully sent request:

Creating a group is as simple as creating locations. Just enter group's name, optional tagline
and description and decide what type of the group it should be. Optionally limit number of
members. Limiting number of members can be extremely useful for public groups. You probably do
not want your W@Y frined info list to contain several thousands of people you never heard about before...

Touch "Create Group" to actually create it and the group will automatically appear in your
membership list.

When you touch a group, action menu will appear (somewhat richer if it is your group):

Select "Send Message" to send a message to all members of the group. You can read more about
sending messages in "Messages" section. The message you send will be sent to every member of
the group but marked as "group" message.

Use "Invite Friends" option to invite W@Y users to join your group. Users you invite will
receive an invitation (W@Y message) which they can accept or reject with a single button touch.

Enter user names separated with commas. You can use "Find Users" button and user search
activity to find users you would like to join. Optionally write a message users will get in
invitation message text. Click "Invite!" to send invitation messages.

Use "Edit Group" to change group information (desription, tagline...).

You can delete a group you are an owner. This will cause your friends who are members
only of that group to disappear from your friend info list and lose any information about you.
Unless of course you are connected through other groups.

Select "View Members" to view all members of a group. Touch a member to view detailed information
or to send private message. If you are an owner, you can also evict a member from the group.

Chose "Leave Group" to leave the group. You will no longer see people who are members only of
that group in your friend info list and. Unless of course you are connected through other groups.
